Good For You
This B&B offers the best in French living - fine wine, delicious cuisine and a laidback attitude in a picture-perfect setting. Located in the pretty village of St Jeannet, in the Maritime Alps, this lovely hideaway has just six bedrooms for those seeking an authentic French home-stay.
The Frogs’ House is run by a young French couple, Corinne and Benoit, who were inspired open a B&B after a 16-month trip around the world. Having grown up in the region, Benoit makes and excellent guide and Corinne’s passion for cooking means that the meals here are first rate.
It’s a lively place perfect for families or couples and guests are encouraged to get involved in the daily activities – whether that be a visit to the local market to collect ingredients for dinner or an aperitif in the lounge. By far the best way to enjoy a stay here is to choose the ‘3 day/3 night Sojourn’.
Good For France
The Frogs’ House is a keen supporter of local farmers and artisans. All the produce is sourced locally and the fruit and vegetables are mostly organic. In addition, Corinne is a keen gardener and uses herbs from her garden for cooking. The couple only serve local St Jeannet wine in order to encourage the local industry and also arrange visits to the local cellar.
Having grown up in the region Benoit is understandably enthusiastic about the village and its surroundings. He is an excellent guide and willingly shares information relating to the history, culture and geography of the region. A stay here is a wonderful way to explore French culture.
HighsThe B&B: This really is a home away from home and Corinne and Benoit are extremely welcoming hosts. The “table d’hotes”: Discover why the French are known for their cooking with this three-course dinner. The village: A charming rural hamlet where Matisse and Picasso both spent time. |
LowsThe size:A maximum number of six are allowed to participate in the ‘Sojourn’. The privacy: The busy atmosphere of the house might not appeal to all. |

The menu at The Frogs House changes with the seasons. The produce is mostly organic and sourced from local suppliers. Meals are shared with the other guests (and Corinne and Benoit) and are served either in the kitchen or, weather permitting, on the terrace.
Breakfasts feature homemade jams using local ingredients such as banana and coconut, strawberry and geranium, and peach and rose. Fresh breads, croissants, cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruit and juices are also served.
Guests can choose to participate in the “Table d’Hote’ dinner – a set menu that includes homemade aperitifs (Corrine is well-known for her orange wine), main course, local cheeses, desert and a few nibbles along the way.
